It's about the Music.

I'm a big music fan, always have been, always will! My iTunes has over 40 days of gear on it, and looking at the last few days playing I have gone through some very different bands (Alexisonfire, Modest Mouse, Opiou, Diesel Boy, Elliott Smith, and Mogwai to name a few). I have never really enjoyed just one type of music, it would be unhealthy and I know I would overplay it ruin it for myself if I did. I just enjoy it for what it is, something to enjoy.

I think I share the same sentiments as Ky-Mani Marley.

I went to the Son of God's gig on Tuesday night (yes he is the son of none other than the great Bob Marley), which coincided with the Antigua Sailing Week that is currently running. Halfway through his gig that was full of his own reggae/rock songs and supported by some of his father's classics he introduced his son KJ with the following:
"It's not about Reggae. It's not about Rap. It's not about Rock. It's about the Music!"

With that, the 18 year old entered from stage right and burst into a rap not much unlike Tech N9ne in the mid-90's with support and backing from his dad. Anyway he absolutely blew away every one of the 1000 odd people at the Nelsons Dockyard gig.

Spirited Band supported for a good two hours leading up to Marley's set and they too were awesome, being full of energy most likely fuelled by the endless supply of cheap spirits that seem to find their way into these Sailing Week parties.

It was a pretty epic night to be in Antigua, especially with the realisation that it is the closest many people would come to seeing Bob, especially in the Carribbean.

It's been over 12 months since I last took photos at a gig, so they are a little rough. I took the view of taken photos of what was there, instead of trying to make a photo happen, anyway I hope you enjoy them!

Stay classy.

This from the gig, I was around the second row to the left of the stage, if you can spot me?
