Travel Fashion

I do like people watching and what I have noticed is how people dress when they travel. Yes we have all done the "practical over style" thing when in transit, I often wear jeans, shoes and a jumper on the plane when I'm pushing the luggage limit. Luckily I have never resorted to the bum-bag scenario or the full safari suit (see below).

Here are some stereotypical photos of travellers from around the world and an explanation of where they are from.

Travel smart people!

Ears: Modest Mouse

Germany: very regimented, so regimented in fact that they decide to dress the same, and scarily enough, look the same!

Germany: Reverse angle - and if ever one is in trouble they carry rescue ropes at all times.

USA: Old cruise ship riding people who always compare where they are with the good ol' US of A. White Moustache is a nice touch.

China: Sunsmart, not very good for speed or vision however.

England: Sweating from glands he didn't even know existed, other telltale signs are the pinkish glow and a tattoo of  their local football team. You can also usually hear them complaining about something.

Japan: Always ready, whether it be the Egyptian desert, the forests of Indonesia or the Alps of Nepal. Legionnaires  hat is a nice touch.

Austria: Action sandals with socks - just the right amount of support, comfort and aeration, without compromising speed if a foot race is required. Khaki tones also aid with camouflage in these arid climates.

  1. Hahaha, this is hilarious Jono. I find it so dumb that people think wearing a bum bag or 'money belt' decreases your chances of being robbed, when it only highlights their 'tourist-ness'. Those Germans are hardcore. And remind ne not to get into a footrace with an Austrian tourist, especially on those slippery stones at Ephesus.
