Do you have your yellow bird?

Leaving Gibraltar, and all of it's rain and gloom (well it is a British overseas territory so it has to be expected doesn't it?), we headed for the Canary Islands. Obviously we had to go through the Gibraltar Strait, which along with Suez Canal and Panama makes up the three busiest waterways and the world. In true Gib fashion it was wet and cold through the Strait, but once we entered the Atlantic it was sunny and plain sailing south for the next three days.

Arriving in Santa Cruz, Tenerife in the Canary's on Friday the next few days were spent getting ready for the race across the Atlantic which would take us to the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean.

One thing that sucked about the Canary's was the literal lack of yellow birds that were found. I'm not sure what their advertising and tourism departments are doing, but they seriously need to sort that out!

The net fish we caught on the way - not the best eating, very stringy in fact!

Crazy storm clouds that seemed to hang on the mountains every afternoon.

Turns out St. Nick sends all of his work offshore these days.
