The boat spent a few weeks in Monaco getting sorted for the Monaco Yacht Show, which proved to be quite a manic time for us. Not only did the boat need to be in Show Mode, but with Palma on the agenda, as well as the crossing to the Caribbean looming, we found ourselves packing shipping containers, lugging sails around the countryside (ones which weigh upwards of 800kg!) and generally making haste. Not to mention spending two days replacing some windows on the boat, and by windows I mean 50mm thick ones that weigh 500kg.
Being based back in one place for more than a few days did have its advantages in the fact that I did get to catch up with a few friends. A Villefranche beach day with Em and Brad turned into hitching a ride in a random van for a Nice Curry session with a group of 12 that we picked up during the day. Then there was that quiet Sunday afternoon drink that mutated into a 3am monster on a 60m motor yacht thanks to Ewen and his mates.
It was all pretty good, however the reality of this industry is perfectly illustrated with the fact that as I write this I am in Palma in Spain. Em finishes up in Nice in a few weeks before going home to the UK, Brad has already left for the Austrian Ski season. Ewen has gone home to NZ, another mate Lachie who I caught up with is kicking it in Turkey now. The last I heard of Tam was as she rocked up in Thailand and our typical poor planning and phone qualms meant kicking it with Lucy will have to wait until the Carribean season. Meeting people is awesome, I just hate the fact that everyone goes away.
I'm going to leave this here, Heerey is over here for a holiday so I have been hanging out with him the last few nights. We are checking out some cliff jumps along the coast today so it will be a nice little peek back in time to when we were bright eyed teens in Noosa.
Ears: Architecture in Helsinki
This guy must have gone to boy scouts as a kid - always prepared with a bread stick in case shit gets real.

Brad and our hitch in the back of a van.
Buildings
This reminds me of Star Wars with the whole two moons thing.
