Papa's

A group of us went to this place called Papa Zouk's for dinner during the week, it is this neat little restaurant / rum bar on the outskirts of St. John's. They do a free shuttle to and from English Harbour, so it was a pretty enjoyable and hassle free way to spend a Tuesday night in Antigua.

Visit

Las month Heerey once again contacted me and said "I'm coming to visit, where will you be in 3 weeks?" So he came over, all the way from Papua New Guinea, to Antigua for what turned out to be a pretty good time! We had a place at Dickenson Bay for a few nights, had a few beach BBQ's, checked out the oasis that is Rendezvous Bay, and even went for a windsurf (my first one in two years!).

Life is pretty good, but having these surprises pop up are really really cool!

You're a legend Heers!

The owners of our apartment, or some God mob?

I walked into a bunch of prickles, not normal ones, more like steroid abused since 2 days old prickles. I was deep in the field by the time I realised, and by this time had them on my feet, hands and elbows. Definitely a low point of the weekend.

Thios is what a foot covered in steroid prickles looks like - note big toe has five of them.

Where the angels and devils meet.

We went for an afternoon walk to Pigeon Beach and up the Goat Track, we were thirsty when we got up the hill, but another group was already there and had a few beers that they didn't want to carry back. We dutifully obliged in helping them lighten their load. It was a nice end to the day.

Access Denied

Last Saturday was a day we thought we would go and get our golf on. The four of us hired a car and drove up past St. John's and to Cedar Valley Golf Course, after basically being denied access there, went to the only other course on the island at Jolly Harbour, once again access denied due to our dress sense (that is we weren't in collared shirts and proper golfing attire). We were pretty off it so went to the beach for some lunch instead, after looking at the photos it wasn't such a bad day after all.

The only good thing about being away from the music scene for a year is rediscovering albums on your iPod, I have listened to this album more times this week than I have in the last 12 months.

1-2-12

Today, the last place in the world I wanted to be was in Antigua, in fact I have been like this the last few days and knowing that this day would come, and hating myself for not being home with everyone. If I have felt homesick at all since I have been away, then this week has been the when it has happened.

Finn was born at 7:53pm on February 1st, 2012 and weighing 7lb 5oz.

From all reports, the little guy seems to be doing well and Mum and Dad are pretty chuffed as is everyone else in the Walker / Carmody family.

Having held the "youngest in the family" title for 26.5 years, I can't wait to meet my successor and teach him a thing or two about life.
